    Kprobe.

Dont recomend these discs at 12x at all..even though a prior scan by someone shows a near flawless burn at 12x using NEC 3500ag..I dont know how he did it.

Plan to watch this movie tonight...will post back tomorrow on if it played back fine, or not. I'm having major doubts towards the end.

Sorry, just realized that Liggy/Dee's firmware just added the 12x to the MXL RG02 in their firmwares - the strategy they used to do so is NOT the same as I used, so that's why it looked better Sorry to lead you astray, I was using Quikee's Version 3 Beta 3... the discs are the same, I can assure you, they're the 4x yellow top Maxell discs with the blue color on the outside package, same ones you can buy at Wal-Mart, Office Depot, and (in Canada) at Future Shop and Best Buy.

If you preferred the 4x burns you got on the NEC original firmware, by all means, use that, it's better to have good discs than fast discs

CanuckGod - I havnt used original firmware on this drive for a single burn. Heh heh. What write strategy does quickee's use if not the MCC one that liggy's uses for RG02?

Smurf, I know what you're saying totally.. Only time I really burn discs faster than they're rated, is when I'm testing how well they do etc for the screenshots..

I'd much rather it take 4 extra minutes, then have to return the disc, and apologize to someone for giving them a defective product.. (Main exception is TY T02 Media I do burn at 16x...but stock firmware supports that even.)

  10. Anyway, it's fun to push your kit harder, whether it is media, a burner, a graphics card or a CPU. Nothing wrong with a bit of curiosity!

I understand. I've blown media myself ... just for kicks.

If nothing more, it proves why write strategy is there.
