Two weeks ago, I have noticed that three "replies" were deleted in the following thread: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=246659&highlight=superbit
User "Gurn" remarked and posted a comment.

I admit that these three replies were not helping the thread (they were jokes- but not offending IMO). But why deleting part of thread without a notice, a trace, a comment?

    Why I ask?
Because when someone get's banned (recent banned users: chunkT & necer) the stupid or aggressive threads they did are not deleted.

Do not get me wrong, I do not care about these posts, I want to understand why things like this happens.
I was thinking that when a mod is deleting, he/she has a good reason doing so (warez stuff, advertising, offending content, etc)

If it was bad/stupid enough to get deleted, why I wasn't told?

Oppps, this will get me a "better later than never" yellow card :P

    Thanks

I looked in Closed Topics and I don't see any posts with that date. Perhaps several posts were split off into another new thread?

Everything that's "deleted" isn't really. It goes to Closed Topics.

    Capmaster,

    Here you go:
Between Amish and Gurm, 3 posts were deleted hence the remark from gurm.

    Any idea?

There are no posts authored by gurm in Closed Topics with a posting date any later than Sept. 16. So either the posts were deleted completely by Baldrick, or they were split off into another thread.

If this is an issue to you, I suggest you use advanced search and look for posts by gurm with a date on and around the date of his follow-up post that complains about the deletion. If it still exists, you'll find it that way.

Mods don't have the ability to completely delete posts. Only Baldrick can do that. All we can do is move them to Closed Topics.

    "Amish Electrician"? Great handle

Many people fail to hit SUBMIT and/or wait. So they never post to begin with. Poor net connections don't help.

Thanks LS, but I think Baldrick dit it.
    I remember exactly what happened
    #1- I posted something
    #2- Gurm replied to it.
#3- I posted something else (maybe this one was not submitted, possible but I doubt.)

    Then they were all deleted

No big deal. I know who's guilty
