I get the same error message, but it only happens every 2nd or 3rd time I record. I would like to get any responses as well.

  5. I have an aiw128/32.

I use to get that kind of error in I was using 98. I can't tell you exactly what I did to make it go away, but I did all kinds of stuff:
    - uninstall mmc
    - deleted the \program files\ati dir
    - deleted all ati files in the \system32
    - deleted all ati registry entries. (backup your registry with msinfo32 >> tools >> registry checker >> it will scan and prompt to back-up registry
    - reinstalled original mmc files from ati cdrom
    - upgraded mmc with ati
    - finally: upgraded to win2000

But win2k is doing some wierd things: it loses channel settings (view scan, stereo setting, contrass, brightness) when mmc scheduler locks up. I hope there's going to be mmc 7.2 with bug fixes.

  6. Before you try to capture hit the vcr button twice.
The one with the circle and the angled "t" I've tried
reloading drivers etc etc and this problem shows up
again eventually. This solution is a pain but I now have the habit when I open TV to always hit that button just in case.

    Hope helps

  8. for mmc 7.1 make sure you have directx8.0+, the directx 8 vidcap update, and install ATI DVD 4.1 update even if you don't use it. it's a bug fix for all the MMC parts

I used to get it with mmc7.1 even with directx8.1 and DVD4.1 or 5.0. Fix is in mmc7.2

  10. I had a similar error for the longest time, until I realized that the WNASPI.DLL file that I had caused them. I installed the ASPI drivers from Adaptec and that solved my problem. In my case the error came up whenever I tried to run the DVD player.
