  1. Hi I used Dr. Divx to encode my vob files from 1 gb to 185 mb. It is episodes from the family guy dvd collection. I followed all the steps but when it was done and I played it, there was no video but the sound was fine. I dont know whats wrong. Can anyone help??

    Try a few minutes of the VOB file encoded into DivX with VirtualDubMod. Make sure you choose the kind of compression you want to use, and the bit rate. If that works, stick with VirtualDubMod to do the conversion.

    Also, can you play video back on your PC from other DivX encoded files?

  3. In response to your question soopafresh, i can play all of my other divx files. I used the trial dr. divx and then it ran out. So i bought it and upgraded it to the most current version and that one doesnt work. The older one worked fine. I downloaded virtualdubmod and i cant figure out how to use it, can you tell me or give me a link to a good guide. I looked for one in the guide section but i couldnt find a quality one.

    That's a good guide. Learning VirtualDub is worth the time. It's really easy to use.
