    Hi ALL!

A friend of mine have bought a DVD in the USA. However, it doesn't work in her DVD player (probably because of its region), as we are from Brazil.

My question is: how can I see it on her DVD player? Should I take the player to transcode it? Or I may re-author the DVD and make a new one, according to my region? Or ... whatever should I do?

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

Question in a similar vein. A coworker of mine vacationing in Europe bought a Region 2 DVD of "Eyes Wide Shut" (uncut version, when it was still available in Region 2). She was oblivious to NTSC/PAL and regions, thinking it would play on her player at home in the U.S. Of course, it didn't. Now ... I know I can use DVDshrink to remove the Region code. But, is that enough to make a backup DVD playable on her player ... or do I have to go through a complicated PAL-to-NTSC conversion of some kind as well???

Thanks. I thought so. I have the tools needed to do it but was hoping there was a simpler way. Thanks.

    Hi, it's me again.

I made a mistake. As a matter of fact, the DVD Player is in fact from the USA. This way, all brazilian DVDs she rents won't play!

I've just checked for DVD hacks, and there are no hacks!

Are these players "transcodable"? I mean, is there a way to go bring it to technical assistance, and they can make some adjusts, so it can play brazilian DVDs??
    Best regards,
    Joelson.
