I found a commandline AviSynth Script Processor called AVS2AVI and decided to run some basic tests at work.

Best bang for the buck for this particular task - AMD 64 3200

holy crap, i cant believe you got that close of a time with a A64 on a ecs board with a 5400rpm drive. but then again i bet the times would be alot different for a 5-10 min video
