  1. Hi all.

It looks like I have been using some marginal media to record my DVD's (should have read more here first!). My old DVD player and my computer DVDs are pretty forgiving but my new player is not. I get freezes and hangups on all my DVDs done to date. Menus etc work fine, but the DVDs will hang and freeze up periodically and hang up completely on occasion.

It appears from my last posting that the issue is likely bad media. So if I transfer the audio and video file back to my computer (my computer likes the media just fine) can I then burn it to a good media disc or is the content itself corrupt once its on the old DVD so that no matter what I do now it will not be able to run on my new DVD player?

Sorry, newbie here trying to figure this all out. Thanks in advance for you help and support.

I'd try a simple disc copy first. There's a good chance that's all you need to do. You can use Nero or DVD Decrypter or Alcohol 120%.

ISOBuster Pro (UDF recovery mode) to hard drive. Then hard drive to new disc.

  5. LS, Is the UDF mode when I right click on the UDF icon and extract. Or do I extract on the ISO icon?

You have to buy it to have PRO version for UDF. Much more effective than ISO mode.

  8. Thanks all,

I got it to work. I used ISObuster to get the DVD back on the hard drive and tranferred to good media. Works great on both players now
