I'm using DVDRemake Pro V2.6.2
I'm trying to backup my Top Gun DVD, removing all audio languages & subtitles except English.
I've managed to remove the Language Menu and Copyright video scene (Thanks to JeanL's fantastic tutorials). Now I want to blank out the Audio button on the Main Menu and in the Subtitle Menu, blank out all buttons except for English.
Let's look at the Audio button on the Main Menu. When I hide it using DVDRemakePro, the button still appears on the menu and I can not select any of the menu's buttons (I'm using PowerDVD V6).
If I open the exported DVD in PGCEdit, I get the following error:
Can any1 tell me if it's me or is there something wrong with the DVDRemakePro?Code:can't read "::buttons::butinfo(1,17,1,numbuts)": no such element in array can't read "::buttons::butinfo(1,17,1,numbuts)": no such element in array while executing "set msg "$msg ($::buttons::butinfo($cur_vts,$vobid,$cellid,numbuts) buttons)"" (procedure "simulate_play" line 174) invoked from within "simulate_play" invoked from within "if {$idx == "-"} { ::main::set_listbox_selection end set idx [lindex [::main::get_selection_indexes] 0] bell } elseif $::tr::now_playin..." I haven't used PGCEdit, so I can't comment on what it is reporting. I have used DVD Remake Pro on occassion though, so here goes
Keep in mind that buttons may also be part of the background image or clip. DVD Remake Pro cannot remove these images, only hide the subpicture above them, and hide the functionality.
DVD Remake Pro also allows you to very easily screw up a disk by removing some integral part of the structure. Within the DVD Spec there is a lot of freedom and scope to create disks in some pretty ugly ways. It is easy to break them by getting to gung-ho. I have also had DVD Remake Pro create useless disks from what appear to be simple actions, such as removing a few buttons.
Make sure you updated to the latest version (it gets updated pretty frequently), and try doing the exercise again scratch, just in case it was a random moment.Read my blog here.

Thanks GunS1inger,
Yeah, I think the buttons on the Main Menu are part of an array of some type, and the PGC commands maybe checking this, but until I use PGCEdit to do the job (the hard way tho), I won't know for sure.
I will report back when I have an answer.
PS. I gather that you are not saving the results of your DVDRemakePro DVD to a folder on the HDD but rather burning straight to DVDR? I would suggest exporting the results and then running, say, PowerDVD to check the results B4 burning.|

MenuShrink a free tool to shrink menus into stills with or without audio!
DVDSubEdit: a free tool to modify your subtitles directly inside the vob. -
I always save to HDD and was testing first with PowerDVD. The problem is that PowerDVD will sometimes play things that are not compliant, or allow you to get past minor transgressions that a standalone wont forgive. I now use Mike's Tray Player, which is a little better at picking up oddities.
