  1. Having a little difficulty getting my compression above 68. No matter what I do with menus, extras, and sub titles, the best I can get is 68, the average is about 61. What does it take to get a better compression?

    The compression level you can get varies on each DVD. Some you may have to look at re-authoring movie only to get what you regard as a decent compression level. Others (particularly episode discs) can be best split to two discs (this guide might help) to achieve same.

    Can you post a screenshot from DVDShrink ?

  3. Thank you for the reply. I can not see much if any difference in my originals and backups at 60. Will the quality of the backups degrade quicker at this compression level?

    quality of the backups doesn't degrade over time or the amount of times you watch it - it's a digital copy.
