  1. I need to buy some DVD+RW media, and it has to use media code RICOHJPNW01. It doesn't matter that much to me whose brand is on it; however, I can't seem to find a retailer that lists their media according to media code.

The RICOHJPNW01 discs I currently have are branded Memorex, but the last time I bought Memorex DVD+RWs they turned out to possess the INFODISC media code.

Does anyone know a retailer who lists media codes with their media?

    Thanks,

    Doug
P.S. - I need specific media because my cheap-*ss DVD recorder is picky as h*ll. Sigh.

INFODISC is generally quite good, as good as RICOH. Look at the HP DVD+RW media, though it might also be CMC in there.

  3. Thanks, but I need to be sure of what I'm getting before I make the purchase. Unless there is a retailer who accepts returns of +RW media and issues full refunds?

  4. try blankmedia.ca

They list all their optical media by the media code (as well as brand).

Reasonable prices (in CAN dollars), however, I am not sure if they will accept returns.

  5. The memorex 4x +RW discs I've bought are RICOH, and the Ritek 2.4x +RW discs were RICOH as well - not exactly the answer to your question, but I thought it may help.

Also, I did buy some DVD media from office max locally once, burned one disc and was unhappy with the media, so I took it back in and they refunded me, no questions asked. I even told them that it was because it was a bad media code and that they burned poorly, they just said that it was no problem because they would just get reimbursed by the vendor. I'm sure not all stores are so friendly, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
