  1. I have tried a lot of slideshow programs, all of which I didn't like for one reason or another. I can copy jpeg's to a cd and view them on my tv with my dvd player and the picture looks a lot better than with the slideshow progams. I would like to burn jpeg's to a DVD and put them in folders (ex. date as folder name) and play them on my dvd player but it won't work and I can't seem to find a player that will do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just like DVD players that can read mp3's on CD, but not always on DVD, there is the same problem for jpg's.
Most DVD players, when they encounter a DVD disc, will stop looking for different kinds of files and will only look at the VOB/IFO for DVD-Video info. It's all a matter of the smartness of the disc parsing algorithms in the DVD players firmware. Unfortunately, that's not something most of us can do anything about.
Look at the DVD Players list <--- and do a search on JPG-DVD, etc.

To be honest, most DVD players that DO support JPG at all (with CD), have a limit on the number of pictures it will read. Often it is ~1000, although I know of a few that'll do ~3000. Even then, with reasonable JPG's that fill the screen, you usually only need ~200kB per picture. That means that you could get over 3400 pix on a single CD--more than the maximum viewable. Therefore, it doesn't really make sense to use up a DVD for this purpose--it's overkill and wasted space.
