    For DVD start here https://www.videohelp.com/dvd
You could also try some of these guides https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=&howtoselect...or+List+Guides

    Thanks for replying.

I have a DVD movie I need to edit with Premiere. Due to my hardware constraints what format should I convert the VOB file so latter I can convert it back to VOB and have any quality loss? What setting? And what application is most suggested for conversion?

    Thanks

IMO you don't need a book - just some time to do some searching (both google and the forum search), read some related material (the What is ? links at the top left), ask some specific questions about anything you don't understand and refer to your premiere manual as your first port of call.
    If in doubt, Google it.

IF you want a book I highly recommend this one:

    Dvd Demystified

In August 2002 the New York Times dubbed DVD “the most successful home entertainment device in history…a true pop-culture phenomenon.” DVD Demystified has served as DVD’s bible since the format first shipped in 1997. Demystifying not only basic technology issues but detailing production and authoring processes, making sense out of the plethora of battling video, audio, and data formats, and clearly explaining how DVD standards and specs dovetail or clash with related digital media standards, this book has not only become DVD’s standard reference, but also required reading for DVD enthusiasts who wanting to peer behind the scenes and figure out how to get the most from their technology.

For basic DVD info this is PHENOMENAL! I read an early edition of it and loved it! It's extroardinarily detailed and informative.

As for individual software the manuals are always the best place to start But each major software has books to cover their features. Just go to any major bookstore or website like www.amazon.com and do a keyword search for your product and chances are you'll find something

AND just ask here at videohelp and chances are one of us will have a suggestion or an alternate solution

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  8. Looks like they have the same author, but the book is 691 pages.
Maybe the online faq is a condensed version?

Don't know for sure. The online version is *still* pretty comprehensive (and free) though IMO
    If in doubt, Google it.
