Hi all,

I have a Technics DV280 system which I would like to use to play my Xbox through the surround speakers. The problem is that the DV280 doesn't have an optical input and can't accept the signal from the XBox.

I believe I need a receiver that can accept the 5.1 output from the DVD player and the optical output from the Xbox and play them through my speakers.

Can I upgrade the DV280 sound processing unit to one that has an optical input or would I have to buy a receiver ? Would someone be able to recommend a receiver to buy as I have had a look and am baffled by the variety of models and prices.

Any help appreciated.
