i recently purchased an ati aiw video card for my pc. the card works properly and captures video nicely. i have it hooked up to a tv via the s-video output on the card. the video displays on the tv; however, the colors appear to be washed out. they are in no way as vibrant as color output i would expect from a dvd player, a tivo, or any other video device. is this a drawback from converting the signal to be used on a tv monitor? and is there anything i can do to get better color output?

You're inputting a 0-255 signal into a 16-235 device. You can attempt to tweak color settings in the video playing software or the hardware controls.
