    i have this drive, has anyone been able to get 16x speeds with 8x media??

    i mean with + media

    i know u cant do 16x -r but u can do 16x with +r

    does a upgraded firmware help, i am waiting for the bs42 before flashing

    The answer is still 12x yes, 16x no. You can force 8x media burn at 16x on a LiteOn drive, but you won't like the results.
