I've ordered 500 Prodisc DVD-R 8X Silver Printable (F01) from Rima.com last week, and received it yesterday (outside US). knowing many user having problem with F01 prodisc printable, i place my order because of the price.
I've 3 DVD-Writer : 2 x Pioneer DVR-A08XL(16X Max) (FW v1.18 Official)
; 1 x Pioneer DVR-A07XL (8X Max) (FW v1.21 Official)
I've 3 Pioneer SA DVD Player : DV-505, DV-515 (both over 3 years old) & DV-270-s (bought few months ago)
Below was my result of this media:
i start burning my project in nero burning rom 6.6.0.3 ultra using multiple drive setting (3 pioneer dvd-writer write at once for the same file)
media : prodisc F01
speed : 8 X
2 disc burn by pioneer DVR-A08XL burn fine & play fine
(Tested the whole movie in old pioneer SA player, no stuck, no pixelness)
Another disc burn by pioneer DVR-A07XL burn fine, but having playback problem.
(Tested the whole movie in old pioneer SA player, movie stuck & pixelness during every chapter)
2nd result when reduce speed at 4X :
speed : 4 X
2 disc burn by pioneer DVR-A08XL, burn fine & but having playback problem.
(Tested the whole movie in old pioneer SA player, movie stuck & pixelness during every chapter)
Another disc burn by pioneer DVR-A07XL, burn fine & play fine
(Tested the whole movie in old pioneer SA player, no stuck, no pixelness)
i repeat the above burning process using 3 different 50-pack from my 500-pack order. all came out the same results (wasted about 15 disc now):
Pioneer DVR-A08XL burn at 8X all fine, 4X = problem during playback.
Pioneer DVR-A07XL burn at 8X all sucks!, 4 X = playback fine.
i stick at 8X now and burn using Pioneer DVR-A08XL only, have burn over 100 now, tested every disc in old SA, no problem.![]()

Vamp...the silver discs seem to be great for most people... The white ones, personally, have been working great for me, as well, but some people haev issues with those.
Sorry to hear that the 107 dosnt handle the 8x burning well...seems like more of a writer issue with 107's etc than the media, as a 108 shows they can handle 8x burning without a problem. (as does my NEC3500, and my wifes 2500).
I give the F01 media code a thumbs up personally, as only had 2 out of several hundred now that have been returned to me because of complaints.

The problem I have with the Prodisc F01 DVD-R's is the total randomness of the quality. I'm using a Pioneer 107D drive and I've had good and bad burns at 2-8x, I've had good streaks where I'll burn 5 discs in a row that are good, and bad streaks where 5 discs in a row are bad. The worst part is good or bad all the disc burns fine, and I have to do a scan after the burns to determine if the disc is actually good or bad. It's such a waste of time but it has to be done cause of the varying qualities of this media. I wish there was some easier way to determine which ones are good and which ones are bad before burning.
