I've had my Pioneer DVR-7000 for several months now and love it, but just recently it began acting up.
While recording a program from TV the unit will abruptly stop recording, and display the on-screen message "Recorder Error".
When I press Record again, it begins recording.
I'm using good quality media (Imation) so I don't think that's the problem.
I've heard rumors of some satellite programs being copy-protected (I'm recording football off DirecTV). But if that's the case, why does the program record at all?
Anybody out there ever run into this problem? I'm hoping my recorder isn't starting to crap-out already!

The first thing I'd try is different media just to rule out that variable. Your football program isn't copy-protected. However, if the signal was broken or badly pixelated that might cause a recorder problem. I'd check with Pioneer about this, especially if it is still under warranty.

Thanks, Fro', I'm gonna try some different media, but it looks grim right now. I called Pioneer tech support and they said I should take it into a shop as long as it's under warranty. Now all I gotta do is find the damn sales receipt!!
