That page mentioned something about losing jobs over porn. If your losing your job over porn you issue goes far deeper then the porn itself. DEYAM! -

Hey Flaystus, is your avatar from a video game? Is that the one where you blow chunks off the guy? -
Mary Anne Layden, co-director of a sexual trauma program at the University of Pennsylvania, said pornography's effect on the brain mirrors addiction to heroin or crack cocaine. She told of one patient, a business executive, who arrived at his office at 9 a.m. each day, logged onto Internet porn sites, and didn't log off until 5 p.m.

When is the last time you saw a guy shaking, twitching, with cold sweats because he needed a BJ??
That's right...everytime you pass by a mirror.
Seems to me like Mary Anne Layden, just needs laid right and when she looks down amazed at Miss Kitty because she didn't even know that was possible and asks "Oh my God, where did you learn that??" You can toss her a Copy of any Jenna Jameson film and say "you're welcome". -

It's the story of the USA today. A bunch of lazy ******* parents, who make put the value of money over children and then bitch about it.
While I do agree that most families are in need of 2 incomes to make ends meet, they wouldn't if they didn't stretch the ends so ******* far. An 1977 Monte Carlo will get your ass from point A to point B, just like the BMW 5 series will. Mothers leaving the home to join the workforce has placed many new luxuries in the lives of the family, however at the sametime it has isolated the children and forced the children to raise themselves or to be raised by a babysitter or school.
"Get rid of it" is the universal solution to everyone's problems. Get rid of porn, get rid of drugs, get rid of alcohol, get rid of fast cars, get rid of profanity. How about the problem being that these kids are allowed to view this stuff. I remember back in the day, when my friend had a Hustler magazine, it was nearly impossible for us to look at it with my mother around, she knew when we were trying to hide something or do something without her knowledge...but then again, she was always paying attention to what we were doing. So don't give me that "can't watch them 24 hours a day bullshit"...that's a choice you've made, not a fact of life
Parent's having problems with your kids and the internet how about taking the computer out of their ******* room and putting it in the living room? or somewhere else in a centralized well trafficed area of the house?
...but OH HELL NO...we can't do that, that would infringe on the child's rights of privacy. IT'S A ******* CHILD, there is no privacy, they only have the rights that the parents give them. They can have privacy in a Diary or in a journal. Not in 160 GB's of computer space and certainly not in cyberspace. Too many parents want to be "friends" with their kids, or are too busy to monitor their kids. Get a clue you worthless fucks. Raising a child does not stop once they can walk and wipe their own ass. It doesn't even stop when they can drive, as a matter of ******* fact, it doesn't even stop when they graduate college, get married and have kids of their own. A parent's commitment to their kids is a lifetime commitment, pay attention to what the **** they are doing, listen to them when they speak, spend time with them and you won't have deviants polluting our world because you didn't take the time to raise the little hellian from age 1-12.
Where are kids suppose to learn proper values, who is suppose to raise your kids? Teachers??? Well **** YOU. Even though I am the "cool" teacher, I don't want to hear about your child's binge drinking weekend, I don't want to hear about the sexual positions they have tried, or any kind of drugs they use regularly, I don't want to have a "who is the better pornstar" debates with them...including female students, I don't want to answer sexual questions for them, I don't even want to hear the questions let alone answer them, teach them that it is not appropriate to ask a MATH TEACHER these questions or to talk about their sex lives in a teacher's presence. I had a 20 minute debate today with a girl because I said I was not writing anymore passes to leave my class. So she comes back with what if I get my period. Straight as straight could be. She said "I should be happy for her that she is having her period, because she wasn't pregnant." I said "I am happy my wife has hers, and I didn't need to be happy for her to have hers because she is a student and should not be doing things that could cause a loss of a period." Then she was really pissed because I was telling her how to live her life. How inappropriate was that to be brought up in the first place? And I pray that she gets pissed off and brings her mother in here to confront me about it...I can't ******* wait.
Getting rid of the stuff is not the solution. How well is the war on drugs going? It's going so well that now in addition to Cocaine and Heroin, we now have crack and extasy. The war on pornography is going so well that some females in HS are considering it as a career choice. The war on profanity**** you, it's too late. Hey they outlawed semi-automatic weapons....how well did that work? Yea, the price of my SKS 7.62x39mm, with a kevlar collapsable stock and stainless steel spike bayonette shot straight through the roof for a while. Yea, get rid of it that will work, look at how well it's worked throughout history so far
Take sometime to find out what the **** your kids are doing, whatever the **** you are doing is not so important that it can't wait, it can be done later. Get you ******* priorities straight and raise your own ******* kids. -
No really, how do you really feel about it, northcat?
I agree. Too many parents have made the choice to buy that 3,500 square foot house with the in-ground pool, and shuttle off to work in a pair of His and Hers Lincoln Navigators or Lexus SUVs. Of course they both need to work.
And the kids they decided to have now have 0 full-time parents. But ...they have a kick-ass house and cars to impress their friends with ...and their parties are to die for.
I'm old enough (appropriate to be making this comment on my birthday) to remember the traditional family, just as northcat does. Mom was around when we got home from school...she cooked for us ...she washed our clothes and, more importantly, she was there for guidance.
We got shuttled around by dad and his 8-year-old Pontiac Laurentian, or mom and her 5-year-old Corvair Monza. Were we embarassed that they weren't new cars? Hell no. We didn't care ...and neither did the neighbors. They had their own priorities and they didn't include having a nicer car than the Joneses next door. Nobody gave a rat's ass. They had more important things to worry about ...like if their son would get shipped off to die in a rice paddy 12,000 miles away. Or if any of us would still be alive after "the big one" broke out. Scary stuff, and it put the other things into immediate and lasting perspective. A perspective I still have today.
But today's kids are spoiled rotten ...they have PCs to plagiarize their homework assignments on. They all have cell phones, and they seem to drive much nicer cars than we could afford at that age.
But ...we had our parents. We learned right from wrong, were home until we started school and not at some childcare center run by ex-Manson cult members. We got the guidance we needed and ...we respected our elders.
My mom was the one who cleaned our house ...not a maid, and when she found that Playboy under the mattress, the looks she gave me for a week or so were enough to curl my eyebrows. I wouldn't dare keep real porn in the house. Instead, I sought out healthy relationships with members of the opposite sex. I dated very actively from about age 15 until ...I got married ...I never felt short-changed in that department. I never needed porn because I had the real thing. Much better, IMO
So when people blame this or that for how the kids are ....and it's usually parents who have long ago turned a blind eye to their own kids ......they are in some serious denial. They did it all by themselves. They made their choices, and now they're paying the price. You reap what you sow. -
After reading both North's and Cap's diatribes, I have nothing to add. Both of you put your own perpective on the way it was and the way it should be and in my eyes you both have made serious statements regarding the world today....
As a parent I live it everyday and my goal is to impress upon my children to do "the right thing" and everything else will fall into place..

Personally, we've made the decision for me to work outside the home and my wife to stay with our young children, at least until they are all school age. So, we have a modest house and drive used cars. We visit family, go camping or take economy style vacations when I have time off. We don't hire people to do our chores for us or to maintain our stuff. We shop at Wal Mart, warehouse clubs and other discount stores... and look for bargains on eBay when we want to buy things. And I work hard to provide the income it takes to make it on one income.
Most of the people I work with are dual income, children in daycare types. They have more stuff than we do and fly when they go somewhere on vacation, but I believe our strategy will pay off in the end. -
I hear you gshelley61, my wife and I did the same thing and guess what...my kids are 14&17 now, they are good kids, they aren't fucked up deviants, they don't get in trouble at school.
You're right, it will pay off in the end. -

We don't always have all the options we want, but we make our own choices based on the options we do have. If you can't figure out how to keep your children off the 'bad' sites, keep them off the computer. Shut it down and lock it up. We all know what's out there. If we don't take the necessary precautions to protect our children, then we're the ones who need to be sanctioned. But hey, if the kids break the rules and do what they shouldn't be doing, just put them on time out. Then everything will be fine. **** that, where's my belt?!?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
