  3. A tanuki is a wild Japanese dog that resembles a raccoon.

Key word, wild... No, wild dogs do not make good pets. Domestic dogs have evolved over thousands of years to co-mingle with us. Keeping a wild dog as a pet is a bad idea. That goes for wolf hybrids too.

While cute, that littel bugger would probably chew your face off while you were a sleep...

That animal is about as cute as the raccoon that eats your garbage or the squirrel that craps in your garden. Gimme a golden retriever over this thing any day.

That and.....you'd be surprised how long (or short in this case) it would take for your beloved household dog to revert back to it's "wild" instincts if left out alone to fend for itself. Add in another wild dog or two to run or hang out with....you wouldn't recognise your dog (from a distance) after about a week or so.

Oh and....they are actually selling these really small and cute little creatures here in Europe as pets. NOT Tanukis....but chipmunks. These people have NO idea what a chipmunk can do to their homes if that little bugger gets out of it's cage...
