Hello,
I have recetnly bought a Sony RDR-HX900. One of the main things I want to be able to do is copy old VHS to DVD with it then, since the editing facilities are not amazing with this, do the rest of the editing (Still "basic" editing, just modifying menus, adding chapters, remove commercials...) with my PC.
I get confused when I read some of the posts, will I be able to do it directly from the DVD-RW or DVD+RW or do I have to rip everything to the Hard disk of my PC, do the editing then copy again on the DVD, which would take ages ?
When I read what softwares likes Pinnacle Video Studio , TmpegEnc DVD Author or Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 it seems like they can do it...
So, my questions :
* Can I do what I want with my DVD Recorder and my PC, and if yes which software should I use ?
* Should I use DVD-RW or DVD+RW for this ?
Thanks a lot in advance
Antoine

Ulead Movie Factory 2 (and most likely 3) have an "Edit Disc" function that will enable you to edit on the disc without anything touching your hard drive.
You can pick up MF2 on Ebay for about $5. The Edit Disc function is its only good quality if you ask me....but worth $5 at least.
