I got a new pc tower and the only thing that changed from my previoulsy working computer was the power supply (upped on the power). ( so i took all parts from previous PC to new tower exept power supply. Now when i boot it up it gives me an hardware error right after my Sony logo. To continue i have to press F1. If I want to look whats wrong i press F2, there is nothing red when i go into F2. Can any one tell me how to get this away?

did you put it all back together correctly and set the bios correctly ?
the power supply is not the problem ..
make sure you are not shorting out something in the new case though ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
did you try to clear the bios also ?

Honestly i got this setup a long while ago its just now thats it starting to annoy me. (Weird I know). But anyways its been working fine. Its just this stupid F1 thing.
What do you mean about the BIOS, I know what BIOS are i just dont understand what you mean "setting them correctly" -

Just to be sure, have you tried hooking up the old power supply to the mobo to see if you get the same error?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -

Does Sony use a proprietary power supply like some other manufacturers? You may want verify that your power supply is, in fact, compatible with you PC. Just because the plugs match, doesn't mean they are compatible. I.E.: DELL systems appear to be ATX form factor Power supplies, but are, in fact, a proprietary.

Also check that you don't have an IDE cable installed upside down. Many don't have the keying feature on one side and will fit either way.
I've gotten hardware errors on boot more times than I can count for this reason -

What does the "error, press F1 to continue" message say, Hard Drive or something?
If so, try reseating the ends of the cable connected to the drive and to the motherboard. They often, in my experience, lose conductivity in a pin or 2, pull loose and reseat, all will be well, at least for a while. Maybe I am getting piss poor cables with my new drives to have this happen so regularly.
Seating the IDE cables backwards, red stripe AWAY from the power connector, would have given an error right off the bat, if it could be done today.
Post with a bit more info, such as the actual message, and yes, I read that you had done this rebuild some time ago, which is why I mention the IDE cable problem, it either takes time or multiple disconnect-reconnects to get them to stop making good contact.
Cheers,
George
