I’ve had pretty good success using DVDLab to author and ULEAD DVD Movie Factory to burn my DVD+Rs. Even though I burn at 2.4X speed, I occasionally get a coaster or freezing/pausing. I’m looking for new and very reliable burning software that offers more advanced features like monitoring the speed of the burn and checking for errors. Any recommendations for software and a burn procedure?

Is burning an ISO image first more reliable? Rather not add an addtional step if I don't have to. Do you analyize the ISO file before you burn it?

Comments on RecordNow DX are mostly positive, buy say you can't control burn speed, and only burns in data mode. True? How is the verification tool? The website looks like it's in Japanese. How do you order this thing?
