  2. They are particle effects / text reveal - likely done in after effects with trapcode particular and/or form (external plugin), and plexus (ae script)

    https://www.redgiant.com/products/trapcode-particular/
    https://www.redgiant.com/products/trapcode-form/
    http://aescripts.com/plexus/

Here is a basic tutorial for text reveal using form ; the text in your video is basically the same thing, it just has the settings adjusted sllightly for the twist and turbulence

You can do that in the cheaper software too, like HitFilm. It's called a Pixel Array, and not too difficult to learn.

You create or import the text as a PNG w/transalpha, then apply the Fx, and it will transform the text into a pixel array, AKA, rows and columns of dots. Then you can transform it, warp it, slide it, etc.

can after effects create such particle effects without installing thirthy plugins?
    thanks

  6. I'm not sure how to do it with the internal plugins and have it exactly like the sample video. AE has 3 internal particle generators, but they don't have as much control. Another difference is Form (or Pixel Array that budwzr was referring to) are actually "3d grid" plugins, so they have points that begin in x,y,z - not like a traditional particle generator that has birth/death rates from an emitter

You can search for some tutorials, but they are not quite what you want to do; but they might give you some ideas to get something similar
    eg
    http://www.cgonlinetutorials.com/tutorials/after-effects/text-to-smoke-reveal-effect.html
    https://vimeo.com/42327375
    https://vimeo.com/42747667

You can be 99% certain that form, particular and plexus (for the end credits) were used for the effects in that video

Those tutorials are hard to learn from because they don't explain the basic concepts first. It's like you're watching a painter paint trees and saying OK, I'm gonna put this and that here and there, but they never reveal the techniques or methodologies.

Reminds me of those Bob Ross painting shows.

Well if he doesn't know basic concepts, then look at some basic concept videos first.

Or hire somebody like budwzr to do it!

I tried to do it in HitFilm, but it still needs a wipe. That's kind of an advanced concept doncha think?

Meh, too much for my small brain.

Yeah, that's him. I remember watching Bob Ross, and smokin' a doob. Never learned to paint, but it was relaxing. The guy is just super mellow. Hahaha.

You can do that even cheaper and easier with BluffTitler. It has particle effects built in.

but with videos , seem buy a subsciption and have premiere pro is not enough
would like to know if media composer 8 could do without extra plugins

Hold on, did you mean "very similar" only, or EXACTLY ? There is a lot you can do with AE's internal plugins, but not EXACTLY like that example in the 1st post . No, media composer cannot do this EXACTLY without extra plugins

Again, it's not possible to do exactly without 3rd party plugins like plexus . It is possible to do in real 3D programs with tracers - but that's overkill and even more expensive

The end features a "signature" look of "plexus" type programs. Vertices are connected by lines (sort of a low poly/triangles effects), that can be "shaded" as in the ending sequence. In motion graphics VFX world, this is called "Plexus" effect, after the AE script "Plexus" which became very popular in VFX work, commercials a few years ago. Just search Google Images for "after effects plexus" , and you will see what I mean

Even the intro segment has "plexus" signatures . This screenshot is degraded by the Youtube compression, but very likely both were used for the intro (plexus and trapcode). Again I'm 99% certain that Plexus, Trapcode were used for this (or their 3D equivalent in a 3D program)

Also, that fX is done with a wipe. The particles are deformed separately from the text. The wipe is used as a reveal. Probably using an invisible deflector related to gravity.

You have to build it in stages. That's where the art comes in. There's no one-click solution.

    hi
i don't pretend to do it an exactly but similar
can i do something similar with after effect ? premiere doesn't have such feature (i talking about a similar efects) ?

i guess there are tons of plugins out

  16. After Effects has a number of native particle options. You can certainly build something similar.
