Either they did a typo, or they just wanted to get noticed with the price. I think the latter, because that's an awful big typo.

Added graphic for further reference. It's used and offers financing through eBay.

Reply and ask if they'll give a deal for shipping multiple lots.

I showed a co-worker that busted up laughing at the shipping. If the price was real for an item that small, that guy sure has balls to tack on the $5.50 shipping cost.

It costs money to put something up on eBay and the higher you starting bid, the more you have to pay. I forget the exact fees or the scale but I think a $1000 item could well be 1-3 dollars to put up. Therefore, did they have to pay... $10,000!!!

No, no. Listing fees cost money.
You're only thinking of final evaluation fees.

  11. Maybe it's another parent trying to teach their brat a lesson (someone posted the last one here, right?) by putting the kid's most prized possession up for auction but setting it that high to prevent someone from actually bidding on it.

I'm not sure, but I think the fee is for a reserved price or other extra features included on an auction.

I've put stuff up that no one bidded on and wasn't charged anything to list the items.

That game would have to be made out of solid 24K gold, with solid gold electronic board and diamond-gold tipped connectors, and come packaged in a ruby-made box and sleeve.

    Not even.

For that kind of money, I damned well expect all the game characters to come to life in my game room

Listing definitely costs money. I have sold a few things on eBay and have always been charged for it, more so for higher starting prices or reserves.

Think about it, if they didn't charge anything to list items, people would post a million different auctions of the same thing (which they do anyway) but even more so. People would make higher starting prices, fewer people would buy items, and eBay wouldn't make money.

Could you really handle a Mario and Luigi in your game room running around busting things up their heads?

    On topic:

They must think they really have something there. Probably found it at a flea market for a buck or something...

For that kind of money, I can hire a team of people to create a really cool and high graphic version of the game and a console to go with it. I'd still have enough money left over to buy a regular working console and Mario game for myself and 100 other friends. I'd probably still have change left over.

I see. Would have thought the price ladder went beyond $500. So they are still spending about as much money putting up this joke auction as they would get selling the game a t a garage sale. Somebody should bid, then they would be screwed. A hell of a lot of money they would owe eBay. Of course, then the deadbeat bidder would be legally required to pay 10,000,000 to the seller. Wow. Maybe that's not such a bad idea after all.

    You have a choice.

For $10,000,000 you can either buy that video game, or you can buy this......
