    Does anyone know if I can use this media in my 106RD?

    I know it won't burn at 8x (at least I don't think so), but will it burn at all? The writer has the original firmware ( I was thinking of updating it using a few bit's I've found on the web to convert it to a true 106 and then flash to 1.7 - not sure if that would help or not).

    See my thread in Writers section. Summary: 8x media in 4x Sony DRU500a with latest firmware => 2x burn speed.
    Pioneer firmware may be better though...

    I have used Fuji 8x media in my Pioneer A06 with no problems. Won't burn at 8x, of course, but have no problems burning at 4x or 2x. Hope this helps.
