Ulead is detecting each change in scene in your video and cutting your video into sections based on the scene changes.
Please use WinDV for future capturing as it is much smaller, gives excellent basic functionality, and will never drop a frame unless you have rare hardware problems, but nothing to worry about anyway.
You do not need to install WinDV, it simply runs. Open it up and go into Config and change the "Discontinuity" or whatever it is to 0. This will prevent any automatic slicing of video and retain all your video in one big clip. Please make sure you have enough HD space to hold the DV, lol. For easy Math, 1 hour of DV is roughly 12-13 GBs.
No DVD Burner? You can still convert DV to MPEG-2 so it will play on your standalone DVD Player (providing you have one and one that supports such). I suspect most newer models do. Ask a knowledgeable moderator for more info as far as that stuff is concerned. Anyway, if you do not wish to re-upload your DV in WinDV and want to piece together the already uploaded ones together, you can use VirtualDub to "Append AVI segment" in File within the program. Feel free to post for more help.
Welcome to the forums, btw.

I went to the windv and put in the 0 in the "Discontinuity but i still got 3 seperated blocks of video it was about 30 min. about 6.02 GBs now would i use TMPEGnc to convert it for a vcd i do not have a DVD buner yet so i want to make a vcd is this ok or not (thanks)
ps. after conver. into mpeg can i them use a mpeg jonier to put the chunks together provided it is not to large
Forgive me this is my first time doing thisit has been a long time -
Ch1, I forgot another setting in WinDV you need to adjust. The number of frames that WinDV will allow in a video before it automatically slices it off as its own clip. Set the "22500" value to "1000000". This is the highest amount of frames WinDV will accept and you will never have 1 million frames in your DV source. Change that also and you will never again get seperately slcied clips. Sorry, I was very tired when I made my first post.
Ok, you want to convert your DV to VCD, so this is MPEG-1. You can use TMPGEnc, yes of course. -
