    okay, another odd request -

if I have multiple images, and I'd like to layer them and average them (ie 70% of images show red at this pixel coordinate, so the output would be red at that coordinate), how can I do it?

any info / tips / links appreciated.

Not something I do often, but it'll involve gradients, masks and layers (and layer opacities). I'd have to play to find it.

    If I'm understanding you...

well, I was hoping for something that would work mathmatically, and I think I found it - there's a freeware that's aimed at astronomer photography that will let you open up x images, and it will layer and set opacity to 1/x, and ouput a composite image.

(also seems to work with boolean operators, so you can do OR, NOT, etc...)

I emailed myself a link, so I don't have the name handy, but if it works I'll post a link (and an example).

here's an example of something similar to what I'm shooting for:

Just our of curiosity, what are you doing and why would you want to do that?
