    some of those verbatim dvd-r 8x have datalife on them and someof them not?
    any difference in quality?

    None of them are called Datalife(plus), but they are MCC media.

    Well, for $60 he could get 100 MCC 02RG20 @8x, so it's a toss up don't you think?

    Media ID is MCC 02RG20. While I haven't bought one of the spindles, I got a 10 pack of them in jewel cases before, and they are excellent media.
