    from usenet post:
I was crossing [the border] at Champlain NY today and the girl in the booth asked me who
    I was etc.
And then she asked me if I had a Police Record...
    I said Yes ! "Synchronicity".
Ever see a custom agent pin you with a
    yellow card ?
I learned that you don't joke with these people. They delayed me for an
    hour.......

Canada is MUCH worse than Germany.
There I am....in a van full of guys....a 30 foot boat with twin Mercs hanging off the back of the boat and this guy at the border has the balls to ask me if my visit was business or pleasure.
I replied.....pointing to that pointy fronted thing following my van...."You're kidding right?"
We had fun unpacking EVERYTHING from the van and the boat while these former DDR Border guards looked over our shoulder.
Same routine on the way OUT of Canada too....that one WAS my fault though. I was SO pissed off about our entry....when the guy asked the other question I replied...."No....the only thing Canada has is trees and BAD beer....I have nothing to declare".
I've never been back to Canada since...it's easier to get into a North Korean nuclear enrichment facility.

  10. hech54 the ppl you spoke to "on your way out" were actually Americans and from fairly frequent experiencethe americans are worst unless your stuck in customs canada pressure tactic (when they renegotiate their contract they either let everyone pass or no one...)

I just went and came back to/from Canada last week from the states.... The man going in to Canada at customs was very polite and professional. He asked a few questions, looked over my papers, and welcomed me with a smile.

Coming back through customs into the US, there were about 500 people in front of me, and I noticed the one booth had this lady answering questions for over 30 minutes.... my luck, I get the same booth when it's my turn... he asks me the standard business or pleasure question and then another 20 questions all from the answers to the question he asked previous to that question.... All the while he's doing this, he's typing away at a computer as I answer.....

...I couldn't help but to think that he's probably just surfing the internet and could be posting a reply right here on Videohelp !!!!

(he was polite as well, they take their jobs pretty seriously at customs.... )
