Has anyone else noticed that during the ending credits for this movie, it has the DTS logo, but the disc itself only has the DD5.1 audio track? Any ideas on why they omitted the DTS track from the DVD?

    Hello,

    That is a common occurence.

Star Wars credits have DTS but no dts track (I think Lucas doesn't like DTS)

Star Trek discs have DTS in credits but no DTS track.

They have to pay a seperate license fee for it for the home release. In the theater they do it but they have to pay again for the dvd (That's my guess).

Most major films now have Dolby, DTS and Sony audio logos. The different audio encoding is to suit theatrical release (most theatres only carry one type of decoding system - at least over here). It has, unfortunately, no bearing on the soundtracks added to the DVD. DTS audio may be omitted for a number of reasons, the main ones being licensing and space, however it may also be omitted because of the cost of remixing for home theatre systems, as some soundtracks are. And sometimes it is because of lazy distibutors - Paramount being one of the laziest in the early days.
