At long last my tiny town as a broadband option, its a wireless provider, and its NOT the one in the area I was hopeing for. They are expensive for the speed they offer ($40 for 256k, or $75 for 512k) but hell after all this time I'm willing to go for it.

Congrats. And ditto on that pr0n comment.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
Well I've had broadband before, just not since I moved about 4 years ago.

Wow, I thought Internet in North America was very cheap?
I just changed my provider, who offered 768/128 for 47€ (60$), now I've got 1024/512 for 60€ (76$). -

Moved 12 miles from there, and now I was able to 3M DSL for $40/mo. I average around 19 Meg a minute for dowloads. A typical MP3 takes around 7 seconds. 8)
At those speeds, it's amazing how fast you can fill a drive with porn! -

I agree. I was pretty upset that during the time my DSL was supposed to get activated SBC went on strike. Their petty problems are not nearly as important as my internet connection.
-
Hey now, my 26.4 Kbps connection is a lot faster than you might think
-
yep.
It's why I'm not on while at home very often, I doze off waiting on a page to load -

Someday I'll fork over the dough for broadband and then you'll see.... I'll hit 10,000 posts in under a month!!

Web pages aren't much faster for me with DSL 756k, than dialup. But downloads are much faster. esp. with Newsbin, which gives me about 756k x 8, as it opens 8 connections @ the same time.
-
756 x 8??? Where are you getting that from? You sure you don't mean 756 / 8?

BTW up north 3mb dsl 25$(and those are cdn $) -
