  1. I am new to this forum and doing some reading and research about buying a DVD recorder which I want to buy very much.

Can anyone tell me what the model equivalent is to the Toshiba that Costco is selling currently? Costco's Tosh model # is the DKR2...what is the same model and model # that an Amazon or a Best Buy would have?

I tried to ask their customer service for more information but did not get anywhere.

    Thanks for any advice...

Above link is to Toshiba's web site. The model numbers are set by the manufactures no a selling retailer? The Toshiba model number "D-KR2" should be the same from costco, sams, bestbuy... ect, if they carry that model number.

  5. Costco carries the D-KR2 for $250. The toshiba web page shows the D-KR2 = D-R2 AFAIK.

  6. Searching Amazon for D-R2 gives 7 or so reviews .
FWIW ecost carries the unit for $250 plus $7 handling fee and no tax for most people in the USA.

  7. Supposedly they don't record from HBO/Cinemax since they went to copy once protection.
