I know it has probably been asked before, but i need to know badly what programs to use to
    Capture
    Edit
    Burn to DVD

Im assuming thats all you need to do. Like i said before in another post, i have been using windows movie maker and my dvd. The audio id fine but video is out of sync on the dvd but not on the computer.
Anyway, im am pathetic on a computer so the quickest, easiest and most straight forward way of getting from DV-Edit-DVD is what i am after.

Any extra tips would be usefull aswell ( i have read the guides)
    Thanks
    Aaron

A little more complicated, but more flexible as far as I'm concerned: WinDv to transfer to HD, TMPGEnc encoder, TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Or an easier alternative: Mainconcept encoder to transfer and encode, TMPGEnc DVD Author for authoring and burning.

You can also put VirtualDub in the loop as editor and filter.

I would agree, though, that the Ulead system if probably one of the easiest.

  3. Agreed, Unlead is easy but the quality sucks. Task-specific tools yeild much higher quality....

Ulead are the best....they don't suck, maybe you do....

You can always convert using a dif program, but they are the easiest and most complete programs for DVD...for all peolle out there who don't want to spend 20hrs just to do a menu....

that is what I use, ulead videostudio, but I convert the files into mpeg with Canopus Procoder 1.5, is better.

  5. I have Videostudio 6, who's mpg2 encoder does Ulead use(or whose is it based on), or do they have their own?

You're probably not going to appreciate this answer very much, but the absolute quickest, easiest and most straightforward way is iMovie/iDVD.

    People ...this was the question:
What are the EASIEST programs to us to get from DV to DVD?
He's not asking what yields the best quality for the buck, or which one can make the ass-kickingest video ...with a little tweaking.

He wants the easiest. Baldrick answered that by recommending two Ulead apps. Both are bulletproff and incredibly easy to learn and operate.

VirtualDub wouldn't be the best place for a noob to start if all he wants to do is capture, make small edits, and author/burn. It's powerful, but he doesn't need that kind of flexibility ..and in fact it'll probbly work against him.

Let's not confuse him with recommending our own pet apps here
