    Hello,

I was going to make a Star Wars Trailer disc. I had already copied the prequel trailers from my discs. Now that I have the original trilogy I have finally copied those trailers.

My idea is to have a main page with "Prequel trailers" and "Original trailers" as the two main menus.

Then under each I would have TV trailers and Theater trailers. I want to make my own 25 second video of 5 second clips from all 5 movies set to the opening theme. I would use this as the main background video on the front page. Then I would use stills or a 5-10 second clip appropriate to prequel or original trailers.

    Any suggestions???

Post what you've done on your own trailer projects.

    Kevin

  2. What trailers does the SW Trilogy DVD have on them? I've got the set but haven't had a chance yet to look at the extras.

The reason I ask is that I've got a whole CD of SW trailers from the original releases.

Depends on what you are wanting to do with it, how you want it to look.

I like to have voice overs like they do in hollywood trailers. Since my voice isn't that deep and usually has some impurities in it, I use cooledit2000 and Sound Forge to edit the audio and change the pitch and all that.

The video itself, I personally like fast paced cut scenes without transitions, strobe lighting effects, even some grundge smearing type of things.

So like for a football highlight film I will have a voice over with some still images flashing and some sound effects (I steal the sound effects from various places or make them on my own)...<in a deep slightly echo'd voice> "In 1999 the Jamesville Spartans struck fear into the hearts of opponents. Tailback Marcus Brown slashed defenses for over 2000 yards, while Fullback James McKnight punished all who crossed his path...." I write a whole long story, then put the video to it, quick clips, with some background music.

I personally like a flashing light, darker picture contrast, quick movement.

I've never made a trailer for a normal movie type of video...like you are trying to do. But that's how I do it.

    Hello,

It has the teaser trailer for each movie. The main trailers as well. It also has the tv spots for each film.

It also has one trailer for the special editions (the first one that shows A New Hope and small bits from Empire and Jedi).

--any thoughts on my proposed setup???--

EDIT - Thanks Northcat - you were typing while I was! Yeah I'm just trying to organize them appropriately.

  5. I've got them plus I've got a whole heap of different versions for the originals including for when they re-released it for oscars.

I'll see if I can dig up the CD.

    Hello,

I think the bonus disc also has the rerelease oscar one.

    Hello,

I just made an awesome 1:20 music video clip using the lightsaber battles from all 5 movies! I took about 10-20 seconds of each of the biggest battles from the prequels and originals and mixed the video with music from the "Imperial March" from Empire.

I'm going to use that as the background video of my main menu. I'm using tmpgenc dvd author and I'm going to have to work on the menu setup a bit. It's rather clums at the moment.

Also, I can't seem to put 4:3 and 16:9 clips in the same menu. It's going to take a little more work to organize it than I thought.

    Kevin

EDIT - Pacmania_2001 - here are two screen shots showing the bonus disc trailer menus:

    Hello,

Hey, looking at those stills gave me an idea! I could use stills from the dvds and recreate those bonus disc menus!
