  1. I've been trying out Vegas 5, and have a 7Gb AVI movie that I want to fit onto a single 4.7Gb DVD.

After selecting Render As.., and choosing the DVD NTSC template, I get a superb result after 5-hours.

Is there a way to (a) get an ESTIMATE of the resulting file size (b) Change various options in order to JUST fit into 4.7Gb? I don't want to spend 5-hours each time testing a few changes.

    Regards,
    Ian

  2. There are bitrate calculaters available.
A rough estimate of file sizes are,
    8k average = 1 hour
    6k average = 1.5 hours
    4k average = 2 hours
    3k average = 3 hours

These will result in file sizes of 3800 to 4300 k.
I create a new template for each new setting and can go back and add info such as the file size after rendering.

    Hope this helps
