Ulead videostudio & paralleldigital recording source??

I was wondering what this option does in the Ulead videostudio 8 se that came with my hdtv capture card.

All I get is a blank screen even though my antenna is turned on and plugged in.

I was hoping it would let me record hdtv down to any format that they offer. My dream would be to record the hdtv signal while automatically downconverting it to dvd spec. I guess thats impossible but I can still hope.

EDIT - I tried a yahoo search but only got one hit that didn't seem to address it.

So does anyone know what this mode is for in ulead? I'd like to use that for non high def broadcasts. That would save me the laborious process of making dvd compatible mpg files from the transport stream.

For high def programs its worth the time to strip and reencode the video of course but for older non hd broadcasts I'd like to be able to record it straight to dvd mpeg if possible (on my fusion hdtv 3 gold t capture card).
