Visited my brother over the weekend. He just bought a Sony Video cam. He connected it to his PC via USB link. The bundle software only support capture video in VCD and direct burn to CDR.
Is there any software that he can use to capture the video clip in DV format using USB link ?
If not, any recommendation on the firewire card that support Sony's iLink.
Thanks.

Hi pchan,
Any firewire card will do the job - even the cheap ones. Firewire is a universal standard and isn't limited to one brand.
As for software, WinDV, AVI_IO, DVIO and Scenalyzer Live are regularly recommended in these forums.
Firewire is commonly recommended over USB2.0 for DV transfer. For some reason, there are sometimes problems via USB2.0 but I've never known or heard of problems with firewire. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room. -
