Hopefully someone can help b4 I lose my mind! How, when burning a video file, does the sound and vision lose sync. The file plays ok when using windows media player but when using nero to burn the problems occur. I have tried using dvdsanta and am still getting the same result. Am i missing something?? I must have wasted loads of blank dvd's trying to get it to work properly, have burned at a slower pace etc etc.
Please be aware that I am no Bill Gates and don't have much of a clue so an idiot, step by step guide would be really appreciated.
thanks all

Hi imorgan999,
Need more info:
1. What are you trying to achieve?
2. What's your source? DV cam, VHS, ripped DVD etc.
3. What format is it in? AVI, MPG etc.
4. Describe your process, and the tools you use along the way.
5. Buy a re-writeable disc - no more coasters. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Hi Daamon,
many thanks for taking time to respond.
I have d/l'd a tv programme and as mentioned previously it works fine in media player. (not out of sync at this point). Its a mpeg file. I use dvdsanta to encode. Once complete, I burn using nero 6. So I am unsure if I am losing the sync during santa or nero (I have tried opening the temp dvd file in santa at the point after encoding but can't get any sound at all tho' this is the same with all video files I have burned previously but yet it (apart from these 2 video files) work great when burned
I have managed to burn other files previously and have not had any problems, yet with this and one other file I get the sync problems. I Can't understand why the out of sync happends when burning as the file is ok before hand. Is there a simple program that can sort this issue out? (but am I then back to square 1 when burning the file)
Like I said, I ain't no Bill gates!! lol
Once again thanks for your response and thanks in advance to anyone else who can help

Hi Ian,
Use AVICodec to get info on the MPEG file and post a screen print of the window here.
I've never used DVDSanta, so don't know how good / reliable it is, or how well it deals with various inputs etc. That said, I'd be surprised if the act of burning (with Nero) would cause the sync loss, so my initial suspicions lie with DVDSanta.
You might need to try a different encoder, or even a transcoder - but we'll cross that bridge after you've posted the details. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
