  1. REDMOND, Washington (AP) - Microsoft announced today that a Service Pack update for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 will be available soon to all registered users.

The new operating system variant, which was released yesterday, hopes to integrate the functions of computer and home entertainment center into one unit.

Microsoft announced the forthcoming Service Pack update less than 24 hours after the official release of the product. A Microsoft employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity is quoted as saying Microsoft was aware of the 2,914 security holes already identified prior to its realase, but the overriding need to make as much money as possible in spite of a poorly-coded product was the determining factor in ignoring the security flaws.

"Windows Millenium users in particular will enjoy Windows XP MCE because it offers them a seamless transition from one completely dysfunctional operating system to another. We have never bothered with a Service Pack update for WinME, we felt it would be better to start over with the existing code and expound upon it, and release as a completely new operating system. We feel the additional useless code and bloated overhead will further enhance the original WinME experience."

US Attorney General John Ashcroft declined comment.

and I still wonder why myself and others still mess around with M$ products and why almost anything made is geared towards those kind of products.
