Black Mark to Philips

Being new to the DVD burning game I purchased some media including Philips DVD+RW. It says "before using this disc in a 2.4x DVD+RW data drive, you need to check how to get the required firmware upgrade."

Too bad Philips don't seem to have firmware to upgrade their OWN DVD Rewriter - the JR4DVDRW !

I am then assuming that you have tried it and this media does not work in said drive.

Personally, Philips received a BIG black mark from me when their shitty MP3 CD player broke after a few months and I had to send it back only to hear them say they never got it at their Knoxville repair depot. So long Philips, you are now on my blacklist, I would like you to meet my other friends PC Chips and Intel.

In a word - yes.

Both Data & Video files burned OK and played back/run OK.

But no further files could be added - the info said "not a rewritable disc" and after erase/format the discs were ex-discs.
