Iam a regular video editor, meaning iam always converting various video formats. and also a internet surfer.
I was wondering if you guyz would help me out with a good Upgrade Configuration with DVD writer.
My current pc is p3 702 mhz, 128ram, onboard sis630 graphics card, PixelView tvcard, cdrw & DVD rom
My Budget is 600 usd

For $600 max? P4 2.8GHz or better HT, 512MB RAM, 80GB 7200 RPM HD, Pioneer 108 DVD Writer, any old sound card, any old graphics card will work fine for video work

I was just going to price a system at NewEgg for this price range but then saw the 2.8 Northwood cost the same as the 3.0 Prescott
Now I'm just lost. Apparently Intel has realized the Prescott is a piece of shit and Northwoods are fetching better prices.FB-DIMM are the real cause of global warming -
Is AMD good or Intel good. coz ppl say that amd is faster than intel and is also cheaper.
Iam not able to decide. -
Not really anymore. The generally accepted AMDs are now A64s which are pretty much as fast as their equally-priced Pentium counterparts. Only difference is that the A64s will run 64-bit instructions when present.
