with a tuner card I record, but it takes like 2GB in *.avi format to save a twenty minute something show with no advertisment, even then I can only save in five minute clips or something. I know it's possible to record from televison to a CD-R with about seventy minutes of informatios. Is there some software or hardware I'm missing? Does this have something to do with saving in stream format? Should I record to VCR then convert? Basically, how do I get seventy minutes of television onto one CD?!! Thanks.

No matter how much one learns, all one knows is nothing.

Hello,
VCD is the way to go. If you can record in mpeg format choose the vcd level. Then the quality will be a bit lower but you could fit up to 80min on a 80min cdr.
The other option is to use a program like tmpgenc to convert the avi file to a compliant vcd file and then author it as a vcd.
