Upgraded to latest and greatest version, all binaries correct and good, BUT, virtually every DVD preset from the avi file I'm trying to convert gives me black video??? Tried some SVCD and VCD presets, same thing using the mpeg2enc engine, the other ffmpeg engine goes for the three seconds and produces nothing? It's a standard DivX format, 640x480, 12 bpp, 25.00 fps, 1236.4 kbps (150.9 kbyte/s) audiocodec: framecopy (format=2000=3 rate=48000 bits=bps=32000 sample-1) I used to be able to convert these like a breeze, but I've been out of it for awhile.....so what am I doing wrong?

Try to disable "Decode with Quicktime". Same result?

Nope, that fixed it....any chance of that being fixed as a preset? I now remember several files that had the same issue, and using the other decoder has never failed, so having it as the default I think would be better...once again, thanks for the quick reply!!! PS: I've built a new partition to go with Panther, but lost my reg. code, if I send my e-mail addy, can I get it back, or a new one?

Have you tried to open those avi files with Quicktime Player?
