I have been transferring home movies on VHS to the HDD with no problems, except for the following. I have a couple of VHS tapes that I believe were recorded in super long play that I am not able to copy to the HDD. It doesn't matter if I use input 1, 2 or 3, the picture is jumpy or the screen goes blank for a while. If I fast-forward the VCR, it then shows on the TV. I can watch these tapes normally thru the VCR, so the problem appears thru the AV cables. I have used different cables, with the same result. I tried transferring the VHS to another VHS, which worked fine viewing wise on the TV, but was also unable to view the new tape thru the DVR input either. Is there a known problem with this unit recording to the HDD from long play VHS, or do you have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks.

Not sure but this could be the black out bug. I think that is what its called. If I read some thread it looks like they may be a problem with Pioneer units capturing some tapes.
PS: If wrong sorry. -
from the way you describe it it appears that those tapes might be copy protected, resulting in a distorting video signal when fed through your DVR input. Try using video stablizer as an intermediary connection point and see if you still have the same problem.
