  1. Hi I am trying to backup this dvd that my Aunt got from a workmate. When I open my DVD Shrink program it says "no disk". So I went into
My computer and looked at the dvdrom drive and opened the cd only to find that the dvd was empty.
Funny thing is I put it in my playstation2 and it played the movie yet my computer shows there is nothing on the dvd.
Does this mean that the files are hidden somehow on the dvd?
Does anyone have an answer to this situation.

You could try to clean the laser lens of your computer dvd drive.

It may be dirty which would cause the disk to not be read.

  3. I would try that except that I have put 5 other movies into my computer and have had no problem reading them.

Is the disc scratched or dirty?

Its probably incompatible with your dvdrom/writer
If been given discs that my writer won't recognise and cant read
Or it could be the authoring/burning process thats made it incompatible - been given a ritekg04 burnt with TMPGEncDVD Author and my drive cant read it - friend then burnt it with nero (same media+files) and can read it fine!
    just 1 of those things

    is it an original?

if it's a DVDR then it could be a '+' and your DVDROM can't read it
