    Hi,
after thinking a lot, I decide to get a dual motherboard for AMD proccessors. The problem is that I don't know which motherboard to buy.
Some people on this forum has already experience with dual motherboards, so I want to ask them kindly for their advice. Which models are out there (no prices) and which are good. Then, I can search them in my local market for prices, etc.
    Thanks!

  2. I have a Tyan Thunder K7 dual AMD motherboard. As far as I know, there is only one other motherboard on the market, Tyan's Tiger K7.

The Thunder K7 has two onboard 3COM network ports, two onboard SCSI controllers, and an onboard ATI video card. I make use of all those features. My cable modem hooks up to one network port, and the other network port hooks up to my home network. That way, all of the other computers on the network share the main computer's internet connection.
I use the onboard SCSI for a Seagate Cheetah 15000 rpm hard drive. I bought a cheap Geforce AGP card to use in conjunction with the onboard video card so I could have a dual monitor setup.

If you don't need the SCSI, the built-in ethernet ports, and the onboard video, then you should definitely go with the Tiger. It's cheaper, and in some benchmarks, it performs slightly better than my Thunder.

SatStorm: There are probably several people on this site that can give you excellent advice on dual processor motherboards. However, you will probably find even more people with helpful advice at http://2cpu.com

I don't hang out on that site much, but I do stop in every once in a while to see what's new in the SMP arena. I have been a dualer for a long time (started with dual Pentium 166). My current system is too out-of-date for me to advise you (dual PIII 600Mhz on a BX motherboard).
