Just recieved my newest drive, a NEC 3500AG 16x DL DVD writer.
I backed up two full movies with DVD Shrink, making an image which I then burned with Nero. My disks were Prodisc 8x MCC code which I was able to burn at 12x. The burns tool 6 minutes and 20 seconds for the first one and the 2nd one took about 15 seconds longer due to the slightly longer length.
Played the first one on my pickiest DVD player and it played perfectly all the way through. WOW!!! Not bad for a total of $82 including ground shipping.
