    Hay..

I am the proud owner of the Haier XQBM22-C Portable Washer :P

I ended up paying too much for mine, but it had to be, because of where
I live, and not to mention the nosy people where I live, who love to
see what you bring in the house, if by UPS, since their trucks are so
loud. Even I jump to my window whenever they drive by. I resorted to the higher
price in order so that I could pick up the package and drive it home more consealed.
    Anyways.

I used to do my wash by hand. Yes. By hand, because I could not get a
wash machine. People would sneak in the LD room and push my basket behind
another. In all the years I lived in this apt, I have yet to actually USE
the washer(s) on the premises. Anyways.

Anyone who lives in an apartment will want one, and hates climbing stairs or
walking to the next building, or fighting in line for a washer will love this
    little machine.

I just got mine today, and brought it home in my Apt (all 49 lbs) and quickly
unpacked it, set it up (5 minutes) (though there are some glitches)
and throw in some clothes.. t-shirt and socks. Turned the knob and set to
light wash (I cheated on the dial) and 15 minutes later, I had virtually dry
cloths to hang. I don't need a drayer. I hate them, and never use them.

If noise is not an issue in your apartment complex / building setting, then
there is truely nothing stopping you (expect your landlard maybe) This is
assuming you may have issues with your landloard, if he/she find out that you
are planning on putting one in your apartment. The first thing they think
is.. Hot Water depleated, or Too Much Water consumption, Noise.. etc etc.
Actually, at it's maximum, the Haier uses 7.5 gals of water.
And, as far as noise ?? Well.., it's not really noisy, but if your apt is
on the quiet side, then you need to make some preporations/planing for when
is the best time to use it. For me, I plan on using mine on Saturays mostly.
Because the tenants downstairs from me will be at work, and they can't hear
the sound from this unit. It's not real loud, but in an apt w/ hardwood
fooring, and hear-through walls (yes, you can year them going at it )
You'll definately want to make some schedule planning ahead of time. In
other words, know your naoubours habbits.
There is a little humming from the motor, but its not seviour. And, if
nobody is home, then it doesn't really matter all that much if its loud
    after all.

Anyways. In brief, I was lucky to get a first try at it this evening, because
the tenants downstairs were out late tonight. I did two washs !! And they
are practically dried, after the 800 rpm spinner did its job.

I am truly impressed. At first glance, this thing might look like a piece of
junk. But it look and feels like a commercial unit.

If you want to hear some more details and testimonies, I'll be happy to
    add them here

    Now I can do wash.

Anybody got one of these great toys ??

    Note:
    -------

(stable or solid floor is recommended) and some minor sound proof flooring/walls will benefit !!

    Maybe more details later... :P

I saw a portable one like that that you connect to the faucet and put on the table.

Only it was for dogs. It was called the "Cur Wash".

Seriously. I wish I had invented it

I have a Haier "fan" that I use 24/7 and still kicking. I can see that I'm
becomming a quick "fan" of Haier products

Well.. I was able to do another wash load, since the tenants didn't come home
yet. (I woke up to very early smells of cooking. so my guess is they were
going to be late this evening) I guess this counts as "habbits or clues") hehe.
    Anyways.

I was able to wash 5 dress shirts; 8 pairs of dress socks; and a t-shirt with
no problems. And, I just love the fresh smell of clean clothes C8)8)L

I can't wait to do more wash. I'm just realizing that there are techniques to
using this portable wash machine. I heard that it can "knot" your clothes. I
think that this only happens if there is not enough water (improper load) and
I almost had this problem. So far though, no knots. I just love how dry my
clothes come out, after it's ben wringed. Sure beats swisting my clothes by
    hands

I don't know about the other users of this particular model (something about
leaks, which I was willing to put up with) but I have no leaks. I think that
you just have to properly attach all connectors and things, and remember
to check that the washers inside the hoses and things ARE there.
I can not find any water what-so-ever around my unit

And, I learned (rather quickly) that you only need a very small amount of
soap. It's true. Just a very small amount. I can't believe how great my
    clothes smell

So far, I've used ERA liquid soap

I love it, I love it, I love it. It's great

    Cheers,

  9. Congrats, vhelp - nothing like being clean 8)

Just remember to wash your whites separately - wash hot / rinse cold.

light and dark colors should also be separated

Learned that very early on from watching The Brady Bunch as a kid

    Soap suds everywhere

Can't say I envy Apartment living - but I know firsthand what it's like to share a place...also not wild about sharing my washer

    Why ??

light and dark colors should also be separated
    Why ??

when I did my clothes by hand, my receipe was simple.

    * I basically just dumped all my dark/white clothes (socks/t-shirts/dress
    shirts)
into a big tupperwhere bin and dumped cool a cople of gallons of water
into it, and let it soak for several hours or more. Sometimes I'd forget it
or loose my mind somewhere's, and remember 2 or 3 days later
When that happens, the worse I've seen (or smelled) was the horible oder.
But I don't get the color thing, not the hot/colod for that matter either.
I must be missing something ??

    Thanks,

Add bleach to your whites - they'll be whiter (if not they start turning grey or worse )

Bleach will put spots on your other clothes or fade colors...and will ruin 'em. Only use it for whites.

Hot/Cold will get your whites cleanest.

Mixing dark and light colors sometimes gets color bleeds or makes fuzz appear all over your clothes.

    Wash those Warm/Cold

    Hi all

I'm pretty bored, and just looking around and reading around and whatnots
    Anyways.

    My report/update..

This weekend, I purchased a couple of quick-connects, so that I could quickly
connect my machine to my bath sink. When I did this, and turned on the water,
pow!! Water gushed right in my face from the plastic connector (on the machine)
Apparently, the other end of my hose (to machine) is strangely designed, that no
other connectors can completly fill the screw thread to the washer. I should have
realized this when the hose "wobbled" so easily, and right before my
But I turned on the faucet anyways. Dahh

Anyways, I ended up taking off the connectors and just using the hose that came
with the unit. (speak to the clerk at the hardware store when I see him again, err)

One thing that I learned quickly, is that its best to re-orient the close just
before the rince sincle. Dont' get me wrong. The rince sycle works fine, but
sometimes, and depending on the load (and contents of load) things can go hay-wire
in that little tub. I found the clothes do tangle at times, but this is normal,
because the close spin left, and right. That's the nature of the unit's design,
and technique for cleaning. So, I quickly go in and loosen a few closes pieces,
BUT ONLY for those strangely large loads I do. I've never experienced issues
with this unit w/ the Small or Medium loads. It only seems to happen in Large
loads, like when I throw in a few odd clothings. Anyways..
That's all. Simple, and worth it, vs. going on and logging a full two weeks
worth of laundry (every week) and wrestling for a machine, (and dryer too) and
then sitting their, waiting, while your eyes burn from the Fregrance or Powered
soap that lingers throughout the laundrymat. Anyways.. and then finally logging
the load back home, and everything else.

Another thing I found out, was that when you hang your clothes in direct sunlight,
it has a way of evaporating the scent/fregrance and the clothes begin to smell
like they were "burning" or something. But, when I hung then in a shade (away
from direct sunlight) the scent stayed Nothing beets that fresh
    scent smell

Well, I'm still learning this machine's habbits and quirks. But that's part of
    a coping w/ a new adventure

I do have a question though.., for any of you wash experts..

    * When you do a wash that requires "bleach" .. is the correct method, to add in
... bleach first and regular soap at the same time ??

    * Or, is the correct method, to do a separate "bleach" wash, and then another
... wash, this time w/ your regular soap detergent ??

Remember, I have a portable wash machine. Not a fancy full-feature/gizo type
    machine

    Thanks all.

    That's it for now.
