They ought to have a GPS tracker online so I can go flag the truck down. That's pretty quick I ordered it yesterday at noon. 3-day, glad I didn't go for the overnight.

As far as I know just some kind of capture program which is good in my case since it would just add to the cost. I already have Media Studio Pro and DVD Workshop so I don't need anything except some good VHS captures.

First thing I'm going to do is try and capture a tape the AIW wouldn't without using the TBC. Hopefully it will work so I can report my findings to LS.

  4. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that this unit will do DV to PC transfers. (so in essence you'll be editing AVI files).

I started to use MediaConcepts MPEG Encoder that has an awesome MPEG Capture function. So, via my 1394 connection I do DV to MPEG2 transfer / on-the-fly conversion.

Should you get frustrated working with AVI or have limited disk space.. .this is a good alternative.

Let me know how the ADVC unit turns out for you....

Been doing DV all along for almost a year now. I just never got around to getting something worth using for my VHS. I have 2 120g SATA drives, plenty of space.
