  1. This is maybe a stupid question, but I'm new at DVD Authoring etc...
Why some programs when making convertion to MPG2 they put
a m2v extension at the file while others put mpg?
What is the difference between the two of them?
I have noticed that the m2v file have the audio separated from the video.
I would like to use m2v, since I think that the quality is better.
Which authoring program can I used to make my DVD using the m2v
    files?

Some light over this subject will be highly appreciated

    Thanks

Actually, an .m2v file is an MPEG-2 file without the audio. IfoEdit can make DVD files using the .m2v files.
    Hello.

As tommyknocker pointed out, an M2V is a MPEG-2 video-only file.

    I covered this above.

All things being equal, there should be no benefit/difference between using an MPG file, or demuxing and using an M2V and an audio file.

TMPGEnc DVD Author can accept M2V files, as will most authoring packages I would have thought.
    If in doubt, Google it.
